There are people who visit this weblog everyday, some once a week, others pop-in after receiving my occasional e-news. Then there are those who just pass through having, for example, googled something like “global warming for dummies”.
Last month the site was visited by over 21,000 different people who downloaded over 110,000 individual pages and traffic is steadily growing.
To everyone, whether you have made me laugh or cringe, a big thankyou! I have learnt a lot about all sorts of things.
Also, a special thankyou to George McCallum in Berlin, Rick Ness in Jakarta, and Neil Hewitt in North Queensland, for the wonderful wildlife photographs you have shared with us over the last year.

Rick Ness's photo is of a Malayan Tapir (I think, (not having seen one myself). Whats' the lastest on Rick's situation?

"global warming for dummies”. - it's spirited, often too personalised and the major protagonists would have you believe that the evidence supports their position without doubt!
However the debate on this blog is a lot of fun and you've performed a valuable community service Jennifer by providing this forum!

Hi, I should perhaps clarify that I did actually do a post entitled "global warming for dummies" and it is still very popular ...because people do actually feed the words "global warming for dummies" into search engines.

I'm off to sit around the family pool at the Sunshine Coast and do a whole lot of nothing, except maybe pop down and join the hippies at the Woodford Folk festival for NYE. I just need my tie-dyed "All the way with the IPA" T-shirt. Would go down a treat there.
